PENINGKATAN KEMANDIRIAN MASYARAKAT MELALUI DETEKSI DINI DENGAN PENYULUHAN DAN SKRINING KESEHATAN UNTUK MENCEGAH KOMPLIKASI PENYAKIT DEGENERATIF DENGAN PENYULUHAN DAN SKRINING KESEHATAN UNTUK MENCEGAH KOMPLIKASI PENYAKIT DEGENERATIF
Abstract
This community service aims to increase public awareness about the importance of complications of degeneratif diseases and health screening for non-communicable diseases. The activity methodes uses (1) examining general knowledge methodes about degeneratif diseases with question and answer sessions and (2) conducting health screening including checking blood pressure, checking uric acid and blood sugar, (3) examining eyes and cataract operations by John Fawcett Foundation (JFF). The results of community service to improve community independence through early detection with health education and screening to prevent degeneratif complications are as many as 90 people who have recorded hypertension, cataracts and other degeneratif diseases with a moderate amount of 43 to 80 years, need community assistance to find degeneratif diseases and also 10 elderly people have done cataract surgery. Suggestions for puskesmas are expected to be a community service program is expected to support the parties concerned to prevent and reduce the problem of degeneratif complications
