Abstract

Diabetic foot injury is a wound in the area of ​​lower extremity in the onset of Diabetes Melitus caused by sharp objects or other causes. There are many ways to treat diabetic foot injuries in addition to medical care. Diabetic foot exercises are non-medical treatments with the aim of accelerating healing of foot injuries in patients by means of smooth blood flow so that the wound can be properly supplied with blood and the wound can heal quickly without tissue death. The purpose of this study was to determine the healing process of foot injuries in the elderly who suffer from diabetes mellitus by providing diabetic foot exercises. In research researchers used a case study research method by collecting data through interviews and observations on clients. In this study researchers used two subjects who suffered from Diabetes Mellitus which contained injuries in the leg area (lower extremity). From the results of observations on the wound before therapy received a wound generation category with a slow granulation process, whereas after being given diabetic foot exercise therapy the subject can granulate well and quickly. The conclusion of this study is that diabetic foot exercise therapy can have a good impact on diabetic foot injuries in elderly diabetics in addition to foot exercise therapy there is also no less important treatment that is foot care with sterilization and hygiene so that there is no risk of further infection and complications.
